The Petit Trianon is a refined neoclassical château located within the Trianon Estate of Versailles. Commissioned by King Louis XV for his mistress Madame de Pompadour and completed in 1768, it was later given to Marie Antoinette by Louis XVI. The building, designed by Ange-Jacques Gabriel, is a masterpiece of symmetry and simplicity, with a square plan and a peristyle of Corinthian columns. Inside, the rooms are decorated in the Louis XVI style, with delicate woodwork and pastel colors. Marie Antoinette used the Petit Trianon as her private sanctuary, away from court protocol. Visitors can see the Queen's boudoir, the dining room with a table that could be lowered to the kitchen below, and the English-style garden designed by the Queen herself. The intimate scale and personal touches make it a highlight of the Versailles estate.
