The Couvent des Jacobins is a stunning example of Southern Gothic architecture, built from the characteristic pink brick of Toulouse. This former Dominican monastery features a remarkable church with a nave divided by a central column that branches into ribs resembling a palm tree, hence the name 'palm tree' vault. The cloister is a peaceful haven with a garden and a well, surrounded by elegant arcades. The convent also houses the relics of Saint Thomas Aquinas in a magnificent gilded reliquary. Visitors can explore the church, cloister, and the refectory, which now hosts exhibitions. The site offers a serene escape from the city bustle and a deep dive into medieval religious life.
