One of the best 1 star in Paris. Food is really good, with lots of thoughts, and the new concept of everyone sitting around the huge round table is quite interesting. Service is superb. They really accommodated us. Very appreciated. Would def come back a few months later when the menu changes.
Dining at nHome was a delightful experience. Each dish was meticulously crafted and bursting with flavors. The wine list was intriguing, offering selections that are sure to pique your interest. The service was exceptional, with a friendly and attentive staff.
Nhome is centrally located in the 1st arrondissement near Palais Royal. The setting of the Michelin 1 star restaurant is quite unique in that there’s only 1 enormous table which accommodates about 20 guests. The 9-course blind menu featured chef Matan Zaken’s creative cuisine made with seasonal produce. There’re some non-French (e.g. Japanese) influences. The dishes included more hits than misses. I liked: - foie gras with smoked eel - blue lobster cooked in binchotan with corn purée. Sweet dishes weren’t as successful as the savoury ones. The chocolate dessert would have been so much better without the Japanese miso sauce. Such innovative combination just didn’t appeal to my taste buds. The service was a bit slow even by French standard. There wasn’t enough air conditioning in the vaulted dining area. It only began to get less stuffy during the second half of my dinner when most customers had left. The price was very reasonable though.
Usually I don’t write something emotional for the dining experience but for this restaurant it’s kind pissed me off and the whole experience has a good start but end terribly. Firstly to be honest the dishes there are good overall, especially the eel with a fantastic soup which tasted really good, and the lobster is also amazing and cooked just right, its tender, soft with incredible texture, the sauce is a bit salty but still good. And for dessert the fig was a surprise. And the most important thing is that all dishes created a harmony which totally worth the 1 star Michelin culinary standard. However what I have to say is the service there has huge gap compared to its nice food. 1) The introduction was made by the chef of each dish, but a chef spoke our language told us he could continue to introduce but never showed up again, it’s not a blame to him but once you made a promise would prefer to keep it consistent. 2) They charged you what you didn’t order, and unless we found the issue they reprinted the bill you would end up paying more than you ordered. One sorry, fine it’s ok 3) They helped you to hang your clothes at your arrival which was normal but a good appeal, while when you left, they forgot which clothes were yours. 4) They ruined your brand new umbrella with unknown dirty water like inks, and just a sorry to finish it. Though it’s not a Michelin 3 star and I expected a lot but still a high standard (supposed to be) restaurant with a lot of waiters to serve you and cost over 130 euros per person. Above mistakes were not acceptable. Sorry to be emotional but scoring 1 is the most I can give to it.
