We absolutely loved this place! The quarters are tight and you may sit with other people but honestly it’s worth it. We shared the octopus and scallops as a starter. For dinner we had the beef rib, the beef bourginon, and the veal sweetbread. The sweetbread may have been the most delicious bite of food on the trip. For dessert, you MUST have the rice pudding.

We had a fantastic experience. Every dish was balanced, delicious, yet had something special in a good way. We loved everything we ordered: Razor Clams, Lamb Shoulder, Beef Shoulder, the Rice Pudding, and both the white and red wine. The service was excellent. Special thanks to Alex for helping us pick the wines and thank you to the entire waitstaff. The restaurant was very crowded, but the atmosphere was very energetic and joyous. We will definitely eat there again happily. Reservation is needed.

I've been to L'Ami Jean twice and would definitely go back. We had the Parmesan Soup then a sharing sized dish of a beef item. Both were really great and service was great per usual. I definitely recommend going here!

Had lunch here earlier this fall. Kind of disappointed after lots of anticipation. The setting and surrounding was terrific, very charming intimate restaurant. The waitress was extremely loud and rude, and when I tried to speak French with her, she would only answer in English. She was clearly impatient and tired or overworked. They seated us in the back of the restaurant, despite it being a big occasion for us, and we had to listen to the owner chef yell at the Wait staff for 90 min. The food is quite good, obviously very heavy, but very good. It does seem a bit like an American tourist trap. We had the beef Bourg that was very good, but very heavy. We also had the Seabass, which I probably would not get again. Service was pretty good and quick. My issue is that everyone seemed so annoyed and for the money that you pay, we left pretty disappointed. It missed out on the opportunity to be such a great, beautiful, charming little elegant French restaurant… I will keep looking
