We stopped in for a drink before dinner and were really happy that we did. The staff was very helpful and patient and offered to interpretate the menu to assist us with our small plate. Ohhh, I wish we weren't going to dinner as we would have eaten more small plates, we had the pickled egg, and it was delicious. The venue is small and cute, with a good vibe. The staff helped us select some great natural wine, and we had a taste and picked what wine we wanted to go with, and that was very handy and lovely. We will visit again when in the area next.
I hardly write reviews but doing this one in the hope that the owner/manager will take some time to reflect. Firstly amazing wines and delicious snacks - really you won’t be disappointed. Unfortunately the service and general approach was sadly disappointing. We were told the red wines and white wines available. I stupidly thought one of the reds was a Sancerre - yes wine buffs it’s a white grape how dumb of me. She actually said cinsault - when I mistakenly said Sancerre I was treated like I was utterly stupid in a loud voice I was told they don’t serve a Sancerre, I then apologised and said the light red to which a tut and eye roll was given. Quite embarrassing anf uncomfortable - it is this type of experience that makes people feel intimidated to get to know more about wine, where it comes from and why they should choose natural. When we came to pay - both mine and my husbands cards wouldn’t work - this was very odd as we had been shopping all day and have European banking. Again the sarcasm and loud comments came - soemthing in French was exchanged with another customer who laughed, clearly at our expense. Then a loud it was so kind of you when I then decided to pay in cash. By the way the next bar there were no issues with our cards so clearly it was the machine that was having an issue. What I initially considered as a great find was severely let down by just unkind and resentful service. On that basis we won’t be back when returning to Paris.
This felt like an over-priced tourist trap with mediocre food and unfriendly service. You’re better off at any corner cafe.
We are regular visitors to Paris and wanted to try a restaurant we hadn’t eaten at before. What a fantastic place. Really great staff and some of the best food we’ve eaten in Paris. The pesto de bayonne was 10/10 along with the coq au vin which has to be one the best in Paris. If you order the parmentier de canard you will experience cooking at its best. The deserts sounded great but honestly had no room. 3 of us eating most things on the menu plus wine and cremant €159.00. We will be back many times.
