Amazing food! The French cuisine with an Asian twist is such an amazing experience. The beef tartare and the cheeses and hams…every dish a flavour bomb. The scallops and the chocolate mousse were also a highlight!
French only hand written menu but we were able to decipher between Google translate and online pictures and asking the waitress. They are very nice and was very helpful in explaining and making recommendations to us in English. Very local casual vibe with great wine and great food.
In my life I have extensively travelled and eaten in some of the best restaurants, this is perhaps the story of a very unique experience in Paris. Just off the beaten track is this less than glamorous little eatery, but it is buzzing with young punters local and not so local. The decor reminded me of a 1950’s style coffee bar where you would drink anything from absinthe to beer to watered down coffee, But the staff are super nice, knowledgeable, inviting and uber friendly, the menu, hand written on an order booklet, is limited and perhaps not incredibly clear if you are not really local. But the food, served in a simple presentation style, is made with care and love to a level rarely seen. We tried the radishes with Tarama which initially sounded like an odd combination but worked beautifully, we the tried the Duck which was exquisite comparable to a high level restaurant, we also tried the trout which was cooked to perfection and accompanied by the most delicious sauce. We finished the meal with the most interesting and delicious and intriguing chocolate ganache served with Greek olive oil. The meal was accompanied by a beautifully chosen house wine, the selection for the “cantina” is made personally by the owners who select the highest quality with the least of human intervention. All in all this is the place that you would usually go past without noticing it is there but anyone going to Paris should try and eat there at least once. It is a gift to hospitality and a gift to excellent food. Well done to the owners and the team for truly surprising us with their offer.
