The Fontaine de Neptune is one of two magnificent Baroque fountains gracing the iconic Place Stanislas in Nancy. Crafted by the sculptor Barthélémy Guibal, this fountain depicts the Roman god of the sea, Neptune, standing tall with his trident, surrounded by cherubs and sea creatures. The fountain is set in a gilded wrought-iron enclosure that matches the square's ornate gates and lampposts. Water cascades from the figures, creating a lively, refreshing spectacle. Visitors can admire the intricate details of the sculptures, from Neptune's commanding pose to the playful expressions of the cherubs. The fountain is a favorite photo spot, especially when illuminated at night. Its Baroque exuberance contrasts with the classical symmetry of the square, adding a touch of drama and movement.
