The Maison de la Mémoire et du Patrimoine Janny Couttet is a cultural museum dedicated to preserving the rich history and heritage of the Chamonix Mont Blanc Valley. Housed in a charming alpine building, the museum features an extensive collection of photographic archives, documents, and artifacts that tell the story of the valley's evolution from a remote mountain community to a world-renowned mountaineering destination. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions on various aspects of local culture. Please note that the museum is currently closed for renovations and is expected to reopen in November 2026. During this time, some of its collections may be accessible online or through special events.
