We had a set dinner for Tallinn Restaurant Week in November 2024. The potato blinis with cod roe had a light and crisp flavour. The organic chicken with jalapeno emulsion and a honey glaze were supple and well balanced. The amaretto parfait with coffee, cookie and lemon gelatine was robust yet sweet. Well worth dropping in if you can get a table.
What a dinner! Simple ingredients but incredibly delicious and delicate flavors. Waiters were nice and friendly. I highly recommend the fried aubergines. Only advice to the chef, the beetroot/chocolate dessert would have been heavenly if combined with some raspberries, to give some extra freshness 🩷
Had a lovely meal solo in Peet Ruut on a recent visit to Estonia. It was my first time at this restaurant and I booked a table on the day using their website somewhat on impulse. Glad I did because from the moment I walked in until the moment I left I was made very welcome by the floorstaff who were friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine they were serving. I caught the last week of the autumn menu, which meant I was able to try their kama dessert - kama seems to be very rarely on menus in restaurants in Tallinn which is a shame - personally I really like it, and this one was excellent. I also had the blinis and duck, with a side of smoked potatoes which were absolutely heavenly. The waitress also recommended a nice glass of chardonnay (which was actually cheaper than the wine I was originally planning to have) to pair with the meal, and it worked very well, Reasonable prices for the standard of food and I didn't have to wait particularly long for anything. Had a table with a view of the street and at no point felt hurried or unwanted as a solo diner. Would certainly visit again on a future trip.
Service was very slow. Wine was hot. White fish was over salted and very old. Pasta was cooked unevenly. Chicken and trout were ok.
