Dark Garden (Pimeaed) is a tranquil park along the Narva River, known for its dense, dark-green foliage of spruce and pine trees. The park offers shaded walking paths, benches, and clear views of both the Hermann Castle on the Estonian side and the Ivangorod Fortress across the river in Russia. It's a popular spot for a quiet stroll, jogging, or simply sitting and watching the river flow. The park's name comes from its dim, forest-like atmosphere even on sunny days.
Don't miss
- Stroll along the riverside path and compare the two fortresses on opposite banks
- Find the small memorial stones and sculptures hidden among the trees
- Relax on a bench and watch boats pass on the Narva River
