Mount Catherine, Egypt's tallest mountain at 2,629 meters, is a premier hiking destination in the Saint Catherine region. The trek to the summit takes about 4-5 hours and passes through alpine landscapes with juniper trees and granite outcrops. At the top, a small chapel dedicated to Saint Catherine offers a serene spot to take in 360-degree views of the Sinai, including Mount Sinai and the distant Red Sea. The hike is less crowded than Mount Sinai, providing a more solitary wilderness experience.

Don't miss
