The Abgig obelisk is a red granite monument from the 12th Dynasty, originally erected by Pharaoh Senusret I. Standing about 13 meters tall, it is inscribed with the king's names and titles. Located in the small village of Abgig, the obelisk is one of the few surviving examples from the Middle Kingdom and offers a glimpse into ancient Egyptian religious and architectural practices. Visitors can see it rising from the fields, often surrounded by local life.
