The Citadel of Qaitbay is a medieval defensive fortress located on the Mediterranean coast of Alexandria. Built in the 15th century by Sultan Qaitbay, it stands on the exact site of the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
