A popular local spot. There's at least a 15-20 min and were mostly local patrons. Ordered their signsture sliced duck and braised pork rice. The sliced duck was a little disappointing for me as it was a cold dish and was a little greasy. However, the braised pork rice was an absolutely stunner. While it looks dry, the braised pork melts perfectly with each mouthful of rice. Additionally, the rice itself somehow tasted flavor, too. Of all the other braised pork rice shops, duck zhen's braised pork rice was the best, imo.
Visited during lunch time on Saturday. The queue was long, but we waited about 35 minutes. The dishes tasted great. The duck was tender, and the offal had no smell at all.
Was recommended this place by the hotel staff. Ordered the duck, the 卤肉饭 and a vegetable. The vegetable is nice. 卤肉饭is yummy. The duck is a little disappointing but not bad.
Hearty lunch for two - a quarter duck, a serving of intestines and gizzard, (black) blood pudding, braised pork rice and vermicelli soup. We were drawn by the good reviews and did enjoy our meal. We could see customers appreciated the duck for its intrinsic natural flavour. I think it was braised and it was served without sauce though chili sauce was provided. There was a brown sauce that many used to complement the blood pudding which was a compact pudding from duck blood and rice, in my view not really tasty but an experience. Coffee shop no frills setting, place fills up quickly after 11 am.
