Very good Lechonera, flavor is one of the best. Wait time was about an hour as owner is the cook, server and cashier all in one. Lots of characters while we waited outside. Owner is very friendly and pricing is fair for what you get. Be aware that the trailer where he serves is old and not the neatest and he doesn’t wear gloves while serving and taking your cash, but if that doesn’t bother you, then it’s worth it.
We showed up around 11:30am and we were one of the first people in line. There was no octopus that day but there was shrimp. The pork was so good. The skin is super crispy. People call the garlic sauce “God Sauce” for a reason.
The food USED to be great. Not no more. To begin with when we arrived there were two girls behind the food counter to busy talking about their personal business. They saw us come in and they stood there and talked until myHusband actually had to say “Excise Me.” I had the Pernil with Moros Rice and plataneros. The rice was horrible wasn’t cooked thoroughly. My Husbands Yuca was hard as a rock. I ordered a side of the Bacalaoito, the ok forever to get and it was super salty and greasy. I make Bacalaoitos at home and Iknow the fish wasn’t washed throughly to remove the salt. Not ever going back. Such a shame
Great food, best mofongo in the area, great lechon, great everything. Friendly staff. Love this place!
