Our local friends had recommended to eat here. We sat next to a dirty wall which was a little gross. It was a Thursday night and we got a reservation number. We were told to wait so we took a walk around the lake and came back. It is one of the first few restaurants you can spot when you come by the entrance at 西湖大道. Got a seat without waiting when we showed our reservation number. The portions are huge, especially the green pepper fish. We ordered 4 dishes for two of us. Way too much for 2 ladies. Every dish was good. We had the truffle rice, pork with rice cakes which was not dongpo pork that we had thought, vegetables and the green pepper fish. Fish was not too spicy. Service was attentive. Bathroom was outside.
I was in Hangzhou with my girlfriend and we decided to stop here to have lunch during our walk alongside the West Lake. We had very high expectations but unfortunately we were disappointed. Food looks very yummy and each dish it’s well presented but the taste is very average. We ordered also a duck soup which should be very tasty but the broth tasted very bland. What a shame for such a good location and service
Gosh this is good... Try it on westlake area..i order the chicken beggar and pork with brown sauce...seems like everyone ordering it.. unbelievably gooooodddd... beware of the long line in lunch/dinner time..try to get here early to avoid the long queque..there price is also cheap compare to mall restaurant
We will there for lunch, one of the outlet near Grand Hyatt xihu, was told 60 minutes waiting time, went back again at night and get a table quite fast even the restaurant is full. Beggar Chicken was nice, and the grandma claypot pork dish is superb yummy. The service is fast, as well food came out also fast. Price wise is affordable and value for money. A must try outlet if you are in town.
