This is an obsessive chef making the most out of traditional sichuanese flavors but exploring outside the traditional recipes and ingredients, and he does a great job at it. You can read about the chef's obsession with ingredients and discipline in cooking and it very much shows in the food. Thoroughly deserves its two stars! I do have two complains that are not about the food: It feels a bit rushed. It should have been a 2.5-3 hr meal but it's condensed into 1.5 hrs. This seems to be the norm for YZL. Second, it was hot inside. I told the staff twice and they did nothing about it.→
