Omg by far the best restaurant since I have been in Chile. We were greeted by the Anamaria who explained everything being served and so nice. The food was exquisite and I hope to come back to this place. You must go to this it is a local spot and hard to find. Amazing food and service I am editing this because again this is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Chile. The food the atmosphere and everyone working here is absolutely amazing. Fernando was so professional and gave us the best suggestions. The dishes were all elegant and cooked to perfection. Love IT
Tasty traditional food, but rather poor service - no-one speaks English, and our waiter didn’t bother to offer an English menu. We had to ask for it on our broken Spanish, and sure enough, they had a copy available. Likely our poor experience was caused by our very basic Spanish, but I feel the waiters could at least try to accommodate the needs of folks who don’t speak their language well.
We arrived early to the restaurant due to our flight in the afternoon, the waiters were kind and opened the house 30minutes earlier. The food was just spectacular, we were proud we made it before going to the airport! Surely recommend and will return in the next visit to Chile.
After we heard many good things about this place and the the tender abalones they serve we had to try it. Abalones with mayo are really tender yet the taste is all over Chilenian (so NO taste). Even mayo has no taste here (how do they manage? even the most neutral oil has some taste?). The blue crab cake was not good at all. It had crab in it but was mushy and some tasteless cheese and bechamel kind of sauce spoiled it all. The steaks where really good, well priced and done to order (otherwise would only be one points for the place). The sides sadly where again below standard and you have to pay all extra. Fries mushy, garlic sauce tasteless (how can garlic sauce taste like nothing Chile??? Please, how?), chocolo just with plain cream (no flavors) and salad very small and again no dressing or aroma. It's almost amazing how cooks in Chile avoid all existing flavors and spices, sometimes you even get the impression that they even extract the natural flavor of foods by cooking them the wrong or way to long. Dessert was more edible than the rest as it had at least one strong taste...sweet. When they brought the check we only gave 5% tip as this place is alread more expensive than Europe for no reason at all. The waiter was quite cocky and insisted that 10% is customary/necessary in Chile. ITS NOT NECESSARY! The 5% where alread 10USD so way more we would usually give to waiters. The food and serves would have suggested no tip at all no matter the customs!
