Forte Duque de Bragança is a well-preserved fortress dating from the early 1700s, constructed by the Portuguese to guard Sal Rei from pirate attacks. Perched on a rocky promontory near the town center, the fort features thick stone walls, old cannons, and a small central courtyard. Visitors can explore the bastions, learn about the island's colonial history, and take in sweeping views of the harbor and Ilhéu de Sal Rei.
