Excellent meal. We order the octopus which had a nice smokey taste. I tend not to often order steak at most restaurants since I have very high expectations of the cut, cook and seasoning but it was very nicely done especially the mushroom accompaniments. Th lamb dish was so tasty. It came with a lamb rib and piece of lamb (don't remember the cut) was also excellent. The rib seared to a slight crisp and the lamb meat was juicy. Dessert on paper didn't look interesting to us but we tried it. And was not disappointed. The texture and combination of the flavours were very good. Very enjoyable meal. Not only food was good but service was stellar. Our server gave enough space for to enjoy ourselves but checked in with us. She also listened to us and treated us as you would expect from a 5 star restaurant. Even others in the restaurant and hotel gave us excellent service too. Highly recommend here for the food and the experience.
Came here for my husband’s birthday and it was lovely. We got the tasting menu, which was good but very rich. The wine list was great and their sommelier was a hoot. We’d heard such glowing reviews about this place and it the food was fine but nothing they served was so amazing that I feel the need to go back.
We came here for my birthday dinner. The ambience is gorgeous and the waitstaff incredibly friendly and accommodating. We did the tasting menu with wine pairings. For the price, we did not receive much wine. The food was good with the exception of the dessert. I will say that when our server noticed we weren’t eating much of it she did offer to have something else prepared but we didn’t want to put them out. Having a pianist was a nice touch. But holy was it an expensive dinner!
This restaurant in the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel is definitely elevated dining. The thought and the creativity that goes in the preparation of the food, is worthy of such recognition. The menu has a nice variety of options that should satisfy different palettes. I ordered the Grilled Octopus and the Butter-Poached Striped Sea Bass. I was brought some delicious and fresh Sourdough Bread with Butter before my meal arrived. The Octopus was plated beautifully, cooked perfectly and very tender. The Leche De Tigre (Milky like Fish Broth) was spectacular. It had an amazing flavour that really complimented the Octopus. This dish looked and tasted wonderful. The flavours were exceptional. The Butter-Poached Striped Sea Bass was also a beautifully plated dish. The flavours were subtle, yet very noticeable. The Fish was tender and cooked perfectly. From the Dungeness Crab to the Spaghetti Squash, all the ingredients in this dish worked so well with each other to create the wonderful flavours. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Both dishes I ordered were so well executed, in both presentation and flavour profile. Even though I sat at the bar, service was efficient and very friendly. Prices were reasonable, considering the quality of food you receive. This restaurant should be given serious consideration, if you’re looking for an elevated dining experience.
