Terrasse Dufferin is a broad wooden boardwalk stretching along the edge of Cape Diamond, high above the St. Lawrence River in Quebec City. Built in 1838, it provides panoramic views of the river, the Île d'Orléans, and the Laurentian Mountains. Visitors can stroll, relax on benches, or watch street performers. The boardwalk leads to the Château Frontenac, the iconic hotel, and offers a prime vantage point for the city's summer fireworks. In winter, it features a toboggan slide. The terrace is a central gathering spot for both tourists and locals, connecting the Upper Town to the Lower Town via the funicular.

Don't miss

  • Take in sweeping views of the St. Lawrence River and the distant mountains.
  • Watch street performers and artists along the boardwalk.
  • Ride the funicular down to the historic Lower Town from the terrace.
