The Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory is a climate-controlled tropical garden spanning over 11,000 square feet, home to more than 2,000 free-flying butterflies representing up to 60 species. Visitors walk along winding paths through a landscape of exotic flowers, cascading waterfalls, and lush vegetation while butterflies land on nearby leaves and sometimes on visitors themselves. The experience is both tranquil and immersive, with interpretive displays explaining butterfly life cycles and migration. A separate emergence room allows guests to see newly hatched butterflies drying their wings.

Don't miss

  • Watch butterflies emerge from chrysalides in the emergence room
  • Have a butterfly land on your hand or shoulder as you walk through the garden
  • Spot rare species like the blue morpho and owl butterfly among the tropical foliage
