Lake Pomorie is a protected coastal lagoon located just north of Pomorie town, renowned for its rich birdlife and unique ecosystem. The lake is an important stopover for migratory birds, including flamingos, pelicans, and herons, making it a prime spot for birdwatching. A wooden boardwalk and observation platforms allow visitors to explore the area without disturbing the wildlife. The surrounding salt pans and mudflats create a stark, beautiful landscape that changes with the seasons. The lake is also a key site for salt production, with traditional salt pans still in use.
