Teatro Arthur Azevedo is one of Brazil's oldest theaters, inaugurated in 1817 and named after the renowned playwright Arthur Azevedo. Its neoclassical facade and ornate interior, including a horseshoe-shaped auditorium and frescoed ceiling, make it a cultural landmark in São Luís. The theater hosts a variety of performances, from plays and concerts to dance and opera, drawing both local and international artists.
