It serves as the seat of the Bhutanese government, housing the throne room of the King and various government ministries. Visitors can explore the beautifully decorated courtyards, intricate woodwork, and vibrant murals. The dzong is especially lively during the annual Thimphu Tshechu festival, when masked dances and religious ceremonies take place.
