The Buddha Dordenma statue is a colossal 51.5-meter (169 feet) bronze statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, perched atop a hill in Thimphu. It is one of the largest Buddha statues in the world, gilded in gold and offering panoramic views of the Thimphu valley. The statue is part of a larger complex that includes a meditation hall and smaller shrines. Visitors can walk around the base, admire the intricate details, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The statue was built to celebrate the 60th birthday of the fourth King of Bhutan and to bring peace and prosperity to the nation.
