Lake Warfaaz is a peaceful artificial lake created in the 1930s by damming the Wayai river, located just a short drive from the center of Spa. Surrounded by dense pine forests and rolling hills, it offers a serene escape into nature. The lake is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, who come to stroll along the 2 km walking path that circles the water, enjoy a picnic on the grassy banks, or rent a pedal boat for a leisurely ride on the lake. In summer, the area buzzes with families and couples, while autumn brings stunning foliage reflected in the calm water. A small café near the dam serves drinks and snacks, and there are benches and tables scattered around. The lake is also a starting point for hiking trails into the surrounding Ardennes forest. Despite its man-made origin, it feels entirely natural, with ducks, swans, and fish inhabiting the water.

Don't miss

  • Walk the full 2 km loop trail around the lake for different perspectives
  • Rent a pedal boat (available in summer) for a fun water activity
  • Have a picnic on the grassy shores with views of the forest
  • Visit the small café for a coffee or ice cream
  • Photograph the dam and the reflections of the trees on calm days
