Saint Michael's Church is a striking Gothic church located along the River Lys in central Ghent. Its construction began in the 15th century but was never fully completed, leaving the tower truncated. Despite this, the church's soaring interior and stained-glass windows are impressive. The church is best known for its picturesque setting: from the nearby St. Michael's Bridge, you get a classic view of the church reflected in the river, with the Graslei and Korenlei in the foreground. Inside, visitors can admire the baroque pulpit and several paintings by Flemish masters. The church is still active, hosting services and occasional concerts.
