The Gileppe area is a vast expanse of forest and rolling hills surrounding the Gileppe Lake and Dam. It is part of the High Fens – Eifel Nature Park, offering a network of well-marked hiking and cycling trails through dense woodland and open meadows. The lake itself is a serene body of water, reflecting the sky and trees. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk along the lake shore, a more challenging hike up to the dam, or a family picnic at one of the designated spots. Wildlife such as deer, birds, and wild boar can be spotted. The area is also popular for trail running and mountain biking. In autumn, the foliage turns brilliant shades of gold and red, making it a photographer's paradise.

  • Have a picnic at the lakeside or near the dam with views of the water.
  • Look for wildlife like deer, foxes, and a variety of bird species.
