Keane Bridge is a steel truss bridge spanning the Surma River, opened in 1936 during the British colonial period. Named after Sir Michael Keane, a British governor, the bridge connects the north and south parts of Sylhet city. It offers pedestrians a walkway with panoramic views of the river, boats, and city skyline. The bridge's riveted steel structure and vintage lampposts evoke a bygone era, making it a popular spot for evening strolls and photography.
Don't miss
- Walk across the bridge for sweeping views of the Surma River and daily boat traffic.
- Photograph the historic steel trusses and vintage lampposts at sunset.
- Observe the bustling riverbanks from the bridge's midpoint.
