Treffen am Ossiacher See is a picturesque municipality on the western shore of Lake Ossiach, known for its family-friendly beach, extensive hiking network, and peaceful atmosphere. The town centers around a small historic core with a church and a few shops, but the main draw is the lakefront, where a large grassy beach with a swimming platform and a children's play area attracts visitors in summer. The surrounding hills offer trails through forests and meadows, including a path up to the ruins of Burg Landskron, a medieval castle with falconry shows. Treffen is less crowded than some other lake resorts, making it ideal for a relaxing day by the water or a gentle hike. The nearby nature reserve 'Ossiacher See Moor' is a haven for birdwatchers. In winter, the area is quiet, but cross-country skiing trails are available.
