The Rettenbach glacier is one of two glaciers that make up the Sölden ski area, offering reliable snow conditions from October through May. Located at an elevation of over 3,000 meters, it provides a mix of wide, groomed runs and challenging terrain. The glacier is also famous for hosting the annual FIS Alpine Ski World Cup races on the demanding Rettenbach slope. Visitors can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Ötztal Alps while skiing or snowboarding, and the area features modern lift infrastructure including gondolas and chairlifts. In summer, the glacier remains open for skiing and snowboarding, attracting both recreational skiers and professional teams training in the off-season. The base station is easily reached via the toll road, and there are on-site facilities such as rental shops, restaurants, and ski schools.
