Nguthungulli Julian Rocks Nature Reserve is a marine protected area located just off the coast of Byron Bay, renowned for its exceptional scuba diving and snorkeling. The reserve encompasses a cluster of volcanic rock formations that rise from the seafloor, creating a habitat rich in marine biodiversity. Visitors can expect to encounter green sea turtles, manta rays, leopard sharks, and a kaleidoscope of tropical fish, as well as seasonal visitors like humpback whales. The site is significant to the local Arakwal people, who know it as Nguthungulli, and is considered one of Australia's best dive sites due to its clear waters and accessible location.
