Trần Phú Beach

Trần Phú Beach is Nha Trang's central public swimming beach, running beside Trần Phú Street and a coastal park on the western shore of Nha Trang Bay. A promenade and landscaped green areas follow the urban shoreline. The managed park includes the seaside sidewalks and the land extending from the sidewalk to the waterline. Published length estimates range from about 7 to 12 kilometres because descriptions use different boundaries. The bay's shape affects conditions at the waterline: islands to the southeast shelter the western shore from summer waves, while winter monsoons can bring longer, higher-energy waves. The beach is broadly stable from year to year, but storms can rapidly move sand between its gently sloping lower terrace and steeper upper beach.
