The Navoi Theater is Tashkent's premier venue for opera and ballet, housed in a magnificent building that blends traditional Uzbek and neoclassical styles. Built in the 1940s with input from Japanese prisoners of war, the theater features ornate interiors, crystal chandeliers, and a large auditorium. It hosts a repertoire of classic and modern works, including Uzbek folk operas. Attending a performance here offers a cultural immersion, with the added charm of the surrounding park and fountains.
