The San Francisco Peace Pagoda stands in the heart of Japantown's Peace Plaza, a gift from San Francisco's sister city Osaka in 1968. This five-tiered concrete stupa, designed by Japanese architect Yoshiro Taniguchi, rises 100 feet and is adorned with intricate carvings. The pagoda is a serene focal point for community events like the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. Visitors can walk around its base, admire the architecture, and reflect on the enduring bond between the two cities.
