The Salt Lake Temple is the centerpiece of Temple Square and a symbol of the LDS faith worldwide. Built over 40 years from 1853 to 1893, its six spires and granite walls rise 210 feet. While non-members cannot enter, the exterior is a must-see, especially when illuminated at night. The temple's design incorporates celestial symbols, and its east-center spire is topped by a golden angel Moroni statue.
