A bit of history
The Taubman Museum of Art opened in 2008, replacing the former Roanoke Museum of Fine Arts. It was named after philanthropists Nick and Jenny Taubman. The building's design was inspired by the Blue Ridge Mountains and the region's natural landscapes.
