The New Mosque, or Yeni Cami, is a prominent landmark at the southern end of the Galata Bridge. Completed in 1665, it was built by the Ottoman sultans and is one of the last great imperial mosques of the classical period. Its exterior is defined by a cascade of domes and two slender minarets. Inside, the mosque is adorned with blue and white Iznik tiles, intricate calligraphy, and a spacious prayer hall. The mosque's location next to the Spice Bazaar makes it a natural stop for visitors exploring the Eminönü district. The courtyard is a peaceful oasis amid the bustling area.
