Wat Chiang Man, founded in 1296 by King Mengrai, is the oldest temple in Chiang Mai. Its main viharn houses two highly revered Buddha statues: the Phra Sila (a marble image) and the Phra Sae Tang Khamani (a crystal image). The temple's chedi is supported by elephant buttresses, a classic Lanna motif. Visitors can stroll through the peaceful compound, admire the detailed carvings on the wooden doors, and see the ancient inscriptions. The temple offers a glimpse into the city's early history and religious heritage.
