The Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid is a tranquil oasis near the Prado Museum, founded in 1755 by King Ferdinand VI. The garden spans three terraced levels, each with a different theme: the lowest level features formal hedges and medicinal plants; the middle level showcases ornamental trees and a pond; the upper level houses greenhouses with tropical and desert species. Visitors can stroll along gravel paths, admire seasonal blooms, and learn about plant diversity. The garden also includes a collection of bonsai and a herbarium with over a million specimens. It's a perfect spot for a quiet afternoon, away from the city's hustle. Benches are scattered throughout, and the garden often hosts temporary exhibitions and educational programs.
