Doña Casilda Iturrizar Park is Bilbao's most beloved urban green space, named after a local philanthropist who donated the land. The park features a large central pond where ducks and swans glide, surrounded by lawns, mature trees, and flowerbeds. Sculptures dot the landscape, including a bronze bear and a statue of the park's namesake. Walking paths wind past a bandstand, a children's playground, and a small café. It's a perfect spot for a picnic, a morning jog, or simply reading a book in the shade. The park's proximity to the Guggenheim Museum makes it a convenient stop for a breather.

Don't miss

  • Feed the ducks and swans at the central pond
  • Find the whimsical sculptures, including 'El Oso' (the bear) and 'La Patinadora' (the skater)
  • Relax at the café terrace with views of the park
  • Visit the nearby Guggenheim Museum after your stroll
