Hillbrow Tower is a striking 269-meter landmark dominating Johannesburg's skyline. Built in 1971, it served as a communications tower and once featured a revolving restaurant and observation deck offering panoramic city views. Although the public areas are currently closed, the tower remains an iconic symbol of the city. Its slender, concrete shaft and distinctive red-and-white antenna make it visible from many parts of Johannesburg. While you cannot go up, the tower is best appreciated from nearby viewpoints like Ponte City or the surrounding neighborhoods.
