Santa Luzia is a quaint fishing village on the edge of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, just a short drive from central Tavira. Known as the 'capital of octopus,' it offers a genuine taste of Algarve maritime life. Visitors can stroll along the waterfront, watch fishermen repair their nets, and dine in family-run restaurants specializing in polvo à lagareiro (octopus with olive oil and potatoes). The village also features a small beach and salt pans where flamingos often gather.
