Silves Cathedral, or Sé de Silves, is a Gothic-style cathedral constructed in the 13th century on the site of a former Almohad mosque. Its most notable feature is the ornate rose window above the main entrance, which filters light into the nave. Inside, the cathedral's three aisles are supported by pointed arches and pillars, creating a solemn atmosphere. The adjoining cloister, added in the 15th century, offers a peaceful courtyard with orange trees. As a symbol of Silves' transition from Islamic to Christian rule, the cathedral is a key historical landmark in the Algarve.
