A bit of history

The Memorare Manila Monument was erected in 1995 on the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Manila, a month-long urban battle between American and Japanese forces that destroyed much of Intramuros. It was created by Filipino sculptor Peter de Guzman and is maintained by the Memorare Manila Foundation.
