Wat Xieng Thong, built in 1560 by King Setthathirath, is the spiritual heart of Luang Prabang. Its low-sweeping rooflines and ornate carvings exemplify classic Lao temple architecture. The sim (ordination hall) features a stunning 'Tree of Life' mosaic made from colored glass and mirrors. The complex includes several chapels, a reclining Buddha, and a funeral carriage house. Visitors can observe monks in prayer and explore the serene grounds along the Mekong River.
