A bit of history
Established in 1878 as the Tokyo Stock Exchange Co., Ltd., it merged with several other exchanges in 1943 to form the Japanese Securities Exchange. After World War II, it was reorganized and reopened in 1949. The current building dates from 2000, following a merger with the Osaka Securities Exchange.
