The Spire of Dublin, officially titled the Monument of Light, is a towering needle-like sculpture that dominates the skyline of O'Connell Street. Completed in 2003, it stands 120 meters tall, making it the world's tallest stainless steel sculpture. Its sleek, tapered design reflects the sky and changes color with the light, appearing silver during the day and glowing softly at night. The Spire replaced Nelson's Pillar, which was destroyed by a bomb in 1966. It serves as a meeting point and a symbol of modern Dublin. Visitors often gather at its base, which is surrounded by shops, historic buildings, and the General Post Office.
