The Valley of the Queens is a necropolis on the west bank of Luxor where pharaohs' wives, princesses, and princes were laid to rest. While many tombs are simpler than those in the Valley of the Kings, the tomb of Nefertari stands out with its vibrant, well-preserved wall paintings. Visitors can explore several open tombs, each decorated with scenes from the Book of the Dead and depictions of the deceased with deities. The site offers a quieter, more intimate experience than its famous counterpart.
